I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna with 104,000. I would like to know if my engine contains Low or High Friction Pistons?
Your engine uses low friction pistons.
Low-tension piston rings are more prone to both oil burning and blowby. They don't seal as well as old-fashioned tight-fitting rings.
Are low friction piston rings more prone to oil burning?
Ok, wow! Well at least I have a Toyota so even though they are low friction pistons rings, I have hope with the proper maintenance that my engine will last longer than Non-Toyota's.
Low-tension rings have been in use for over 20 years. You'll be hard pressed to find a modern car without them. Although such piston rings are by their nature more prone to causing oil burning and sludging those issues can be overcome with proper engine design.
So would a regular oil change with good oil along with top tier gas and changing your PCV Valve in this case help most likely in preventing Carbon Deposits, Sludge, and Oil Burning?
Can an Oil Catch Can Prevent Carbon Deposits and prevent Blowby? Or...is that only recommended for G.D.I. Systems?

my 9 year van doesn't burn any oil
