Hello, today I was checking out a used 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring with 71k miles. The Airbag light comes on and off every now and then while driving. Took it to a couple mechanics and they said it could be problem with the sensor or the computer. They also said that it's not necessary to have it in order to pass inspection as I live in NY. The car is being sold to me for 3900 dollars. Is it a good deal or should I just hold out and wait for others?
Thanks!
Clarification: How many years and miles do you need the vehicle to last you?
Since I might end up spending 5000 total after fixes I'm thinking hopefully it would run for another 5 years or so. When the mechanics ran the scan it didn't trip any codes on the engine or transmission but I'm not sure if is worth the money.
The best way we can help you with this is to advise you to run away from it.
Run away from that car. Hyundai Elantras have very weak transmissions and their motors blow up.

Also, I grew up in NY and my friend still drives his Elantra. It has not been any fun working on that car.
Do not buy any Hyundai or Kia
Double thumbs up for MM Joe on this one.
