Dashboard lighting up like a Christmas Tree

About a month ago, maybe 6 weeks, I had left my sunroof open about 3 inches without knowing it, because of the window roll down feature when holding the unlock button on the key fob. Well, it poured rain, and the next day I had about 2 or 3 inches of water in the cupholders, and the dash was all wet. All the warning lights came on the dash when I started it up.. When I explained to my mechanic what happened. he said give it a week to see if it drys out. So about 8 or 9 days later, the lights were off when I turned it on. Unitl it rained again. So everytime it rains, the dashboard warning lights come on with related warning messages in the dash. . As in all the lights...hill assist, trailer assist, power steering, AWD, stability, emissions, chk engine, etc, Then the truck started running really rough, on occasion. No pattern, no rhyme or reason. He put is scanner on it, And it came back with some misfires. Well this happened a couple of times, so we decided to change the plugs. His point was that when there is a misfire, the computer will shut down all the systems - hence the warning lights. Now the plugs are changed just this past Friday. Lights still on in the dash. Mechanic says there is a service bulletin that one or more fuel injectors is probably bad - therefore, the warning lights. My gut is that I ruined the circuit board that controls all that stuff when I left the sunroof open. Brought it to local Honda dealer, and they just screwed me with my appointment. Was supposed to be seen at 9am, left it there last night, and they just informed me they can't get to it until tomorrow. It's now 4pm. So what are my options here, and what does it seem like is the real problem.? Besides the fact that I'm never going to that dealer again, because this is the 2nd time they have screwed me. I'm picking up the vehicle this evening and bringing it to another Honda dealer. I bought the car as CPO, but apparently fuel injectors are warrantied for up to 150k miles regardless, so they would be covered if thats the problem. What about a bad circuit board? Would that be covered? If not, what kind $'s am I looking at to get this straigthened out? Thank you.

It isn't "circuit board that controls all that stuff", it's about 15-45 computers.

These computers all talk using a thing called "CAN" (controller area network) -

something on that network has gotten damaged and is causing networking issues.

And Hondas are NOTORIOUS for being hard to diagnose when it comes to CAN issues - I remember them using a "single wire design".

When it acts up, you need to connect a GOOD profession scanner that will show a network map.

This good scanner will let you see what CAN network lines are down.

For example, this is how it looks on a ThinkTool Pros:

Additionally, good schematics will allow you to see what modules exist in that area.

And when the car doesn't act up - it will also show you what modules have codes for "no comm" or "software fault".

It's just a job for a good car electrician, deffinetly not a dealer electrician as those are the worst in the biss and charge ungodly amounts for their "diagnosis".

Well, a bad circuit board would not be covered if it got wet and warped. Of course who can prove what happened one way or the other, whether it burned out or whether it got wet and went bad. You'd really have to trust a Honda dealer because analyzing their fuel injection system, it's not an easy thing to do

how does one find a good car electrician?

ask mechanics where they send their work
