That 2011 model year was the second to last year of that generation (which ended with 2012).  Besides what Chuck mentioned, I would avoid the 3.5L V6 which had cylinder deactivation (or what Honda calls VCM) - that engine had oil burning issues and part of a class action lawsuit for 2008-2012 model years (also see here: https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/postid/110470/).

In fact, the Honda Accord oil burning consumption for the 8th Gen (model years 2008-2012) falls into 2 camps:  not all vehicles experienced it, and it’s not clear just how widespread the issue was.

  • 2008-2012 with 2.4L I4 engines
  • 2008-2012 with 3.5L V6 (with VCM)

But model years 2008-2010 seemed to be the worst of it.  Be sure to have a good, independent mechanic thoroughly check out the vehicle before you buy.

The other issue for 2011 were owners complained of uncomfortable seats.  You may not be able to feel this on a short test drive.

Finally, 2011 model year was offered with a 5-speed manual (for 2.4L I4 engine only).  If you can get the 2.4L I4 with manual, that would be optimal from a longevity standpoint.

Have it checked out by a good mechanic who can check out the electronics with a good scan tool as well as look for mechanical problems.  If it has an automatic transmission check fluid condition and be aware of any bad noises, slippage, or other issues. You'll also want to be sure the airbag recall has been done since that appears to be one of the vehicles affected.
