  1. We have bought a 98 honda civic ex. But it is rebuilt says in the registration. The engine in D16Y7. We just read that this has issues with engine misfiring, is it true?
  2. We have replaced the battery. We run it after being replaced and put some gas on. On the next day, morning we run again and has bo issue at all, then we tried to run again at night the car wont start and the temperature outside is -29.What would be the issue? The car has engine starting noise. No engine block installed.
  3. Will it run or start if we put high voltage source?
  4. We will try to change the spark plug first. But what if its not the spark plug? We check in the multimeter the alternator is with the good range. The starter has no issue too. Battery is new. But we saw some leak or the mechanic says its just oil spillage in the left side part and says No big deal.

man some of these cold areas will bring about all kinds of problems. IDK where exactly you read about the misfires. The d15s/d16s were super reliable engines & part of the golden age of JDM reliability. Is the car kept in a garage before starting? A car that old may not come with a plug in engine block warmer. A stand alone propane heater may hold you over. You have to think about some of the temperature changes that some of these blocks go through. Enough warps will eventually set a small but noticable physical resistance of the crankshaft/piston movement during startup, that could be your problem. How is your coolant. I know some guys will throw straight water into these old hondas thinking it will be alright since t he block is aluminum. that is not so true. pure h20 will expand on freezing and mess up your block

Could be as simple as a Coolant Temperature sensor that isn't reading the correct coolant temperature.
