Honda Civic lx, 2020/1 model year or Nissan Sentra 2025

We live in Canada.  For the 2020, and 2021 model year, the Honda civic produced a naturally aspirated 2 litre engine that put out approximately 158 horsepower and 138 lb ft of torque. It could be purchased with a 6-speed manual transmission. Fast forward to 2025, and this is no longer possible with the Honda.  The prices of the civic, have gone through the roof.   As an alternative, I have found that Nissan makes a Sentra with a 2 litre engine that's naturally aspirated producing about 150 horsepower and 150 lb foot of torque. It is also mated to a 6-speed manual. If possible, I like to own my cars for the long run and drive them for 300,000 to 400,000 km and longer if possible. I regularly maintain all aspects of my car and plan to rust proof the vehicle regularly.  If I were to choose a vehicle, which one would I be better off with? Should I choose a low mileage used Honda civic from 2020 or 2021 or would I be better off buying a brand new Sentra from 2025. Ultimately, I'm looking at the car that will give me the least mechanical problems and will last the longest with the proper maintenance. The Honda is made in Canada, the Nissan is made in Mexico, I'm not sure if this has any influence on its longevity. The used Honda civic is a cheaper option with a price tag closer to $20,000 plus taxes and the Nissan Sentra would be closer to $26,000 plus taxes. Thanks very much for your thoughts.  I'm also open to the idea of a Toyota Corolla or a Corolla hatchback. The manual versions of these cars stopped in 2022.

If your only concern is a 2.0 naturally aspired engine then both the 2025 LX and Sport still offer that engine. But if it has to be manual then go for a older model Civic or Corolla, and just make sure to have a trusted independent mechanic check it out before you buy it.
