Hello Scotty.
I recently bought a Honda CR-V 2006 2.0l 2nd gen automatic from a car dealership.
The car has about 16800 miles on it and has a fully stamped servicebook which i assume means it has had regurarly oil changes and inspection every 1200 miles or so.
The ten first years at Honda.
So for the problem. I drove the car home about 70 miles
and had no problems whatsoever. It was raining heavily though, i dont know If that matters. In the morning the car starts upp normally but i notice that the check engine light is on (not the oil pressure light). I run the OBD and the car shows fault code P2647 VTEC oil pressure switch circuit high voltage and code 83-01 ECM/PCM Relation Failure. The car runs normally during idling and there are no weird sounds from the engine bay.
I rev the engine above 3000rpm but i dont notice any limping. I havent been driving the car due to the risk of might making it worse. I am suspecting the fault might be electrical but Im not sure where to start troubleshooting? I bought new oil and a original Honda filter and ordered a new VVT valve although i dont know if this is the problem. Please help. Regards. Christian.

Did you have a mechanic inspect it before purchase? That thing is 19 years old and might have any number of hidden problems.
Im not sure where to start troubleshooting?
Have you looked up the code for troubleshooting information? For example:

Also, you can find a repair manual here:

We don't recommend blindly throwing parts at a problem without troubleshooting first. That rarely results in a good outcome. If you do find that a part or parts need to be replaced be sure to use OEM replacements ordered from a trustworthy source (not Amazon or eBay.)
