At only $10 per bottle, is it really worth gambling with?

Toyota parts service dealership

Honda dealer

Are you looking to be ripped off?

out of all the parts stores, why the worst one?

Probably, if you can verify the specs on the reservoir filler cap or owners manual match the specs on the bottle.

Otherwise, what @mmj said.  Fluid isn't expensive.

Lol
I walked into my Toyota parts service dealership today and was told AU$$95.56 per 1ltr/qrt bottle
I politely walked out
Even the service guy sounded surprised when he looked it up on the computer. I had asked for two bottles.
Is there an alternative?
I’m not paying $100 for one litre!!!

And at my Honda dealer two days ago I bought Honda power steering fluid for AU$20 per litre bottle

I probably would not have been as polite. You should be able to get a much better price on suitable power steering fluid at an auto parts store.

Hondas are fairly unique in that over the years they have used their own formulation for power steering fluid. I used to see generic aftermarket fluids marked "not for use in Honda", but more recently many now claim to be "universal". (Translation: "Not really right for anything but probably good enough for government work.")

Toyota on the other hand uses a common type of fluid, basically Dexron III transmission fluid. So any leading brand of generic power steering fluid should be fine.

It's $6/L at Autozone. I can't help you in Oz though.
