How is a subaru legacy sedan with the 4 cylinder boxer and cvt?
New or old? If looking at used cars, older Subarus had head gasket problems, some years had oil burning problems, and CVTs were weak. New Subarus in general no longer have head gasket or oil burning problems and the CVTs are improved, but the latter are still a weak point. A plus is their 4WD systems are effective and reliable.
It depends on your expectations. If you expect to keep a new car for no more than 8-10 years and 150K miles you'll probably be OK. On the other hand if you want a car to last 15-20 years or more and 300K-400K miles you'll likely be disappointed.
My wife drives a 2017 Outback that we purchased new. Very solid vehicle and no issues. I drive a 4x4 truck but will take her outback if conditions are bad. I have driven that car through brutal nor’easters and it is amazing how well it performs. I highly recommend it, especially if you reside in a snowy area.
Depends. For about 120 130k miles, the CVT would be good Scotty makes reviews on them and only certain model years like 2012-2015 on specific models have oil burning head gasket issues are less common now adays but to get good life out of one you need to do research and get one that does not have oil burning issues and is a manual transmission. If you are happy with that kind of mileage so like 10 12 years then a Subaru could be a great idea but the CVT is weak. Also the 4 cylinders are better than the H6 engines.
Hope this helps!
Also what year is it? Some years have more severe or more common engine/transmission issues than othes.
