I've been commuting my 2011 Scion tc to work for a while now and yesterday I noticed these small white dots on my hood and windshield. I tried to wash them off but they are hard to get off without putting a lot of force.
My only guess to what it could be is white paint since I commute on the highways and there has been active construction when I commute home.
Is there any good method to removing this paint. From what I found alcohol could be used but I want to make sure I don't damage the paint.
If mild soap and elbow grease do the trick, best stick with that if you don't wanna ruin the paint. You can try also towel instead of microfiber, it will leave swirls but you can buff those out later. Can also try tar and bug remover as a step up.
If there is excess and just way to many then I would move right onto a solution of drill go brr with mild abrasive like magnum buffing compound+polish after. (Do not do this is you are inexperienced as it is very easy to burn through clear coat and even color coats)
Try a plastic scrapper with warm soapy water to pop them off the windshield.
Just be sure the scrapper is smooth, and only use light pressure.
It's iffy on the paint. If the dots are really stuck on try the bug and tar remover recommended above.
