Hi Scotty,
How old were your used Toyotas when you bought them and how many years did they last? Thank you.
I permenantly retired my old 1990 Camry and had it towed in 2019. She wasn't taken care of at all before I had her & her transmission was toast (no reverse, 2nd gear was rather sad - even with a new battery.) I DID, however, leave a note in her for the junkyard that her engine was still great, so hopefully someone who needed it got a good transplant!
The car had been severely neglected before I got her by several previous owners, so take that into account. I needed a car, so still took a chance on her & she served her purpose when I needed transportation. I now have a 2001 Prius that was well maintained, yet 250k+ miles and love the gas mileage. She drives much like new. Toyota makes some great cars.
I bought my 1981 Toyota 4x4 long bed pick up in 1991 when it was ten years old. It is now 2021, 30 years later. The truck is 40 years old and I am still driving it every day. Aside from minor stuff; alternator, radiator, heater blower resistor and a few other things, it has run flawlessly. It is meticulously maintained by ME.
Can you post of pic of that gem you have?
I have tried to figure out how to do that, but my computer came with a rope starter and a manual choke. So did my brain. I don't own a smart phone and I don't want one. The polite answer to your question is NO.
Doc would have to chisel the image into a stone tablet and deliver it by donkey to you
😆
Pretty close - I'd have to paint it on a cave wall, then disassemble the cave and have it shipped, by ox cart.
If the car photo is less than 512 kilobytes, you can copy and paste it into the text box. Otherwise, more hoops would need to be jumped through.
Not really used, but I think it may still fit.
2004 Toyota Prius since the beginning. Now with 300+K miles.
Excellent!!!
Good evening Bonnie,
My dad has only bought Toyotas and Hondas for his vehicles. He has a 1986 and a 1988 Toyota pickup trucks and they are still running strong. I will post a story on the absolute hell that my dad's '86 pickup was when it blew the head gasket.
Our family car, bought back in 2012 is a 2009 Toyota Camry with the 2AZ-FE 4 cylinder engine and an automatic transmission. It was bought with 130,000 km on it and had the engine replaced, as it had the infamous oil-burning issues. The replacement engine was a remanufactured one.
I think we have replaced the spark plugs once and the battery once. Besides that, all regular maintenance, with some use of fuel system cleaner. 9 years later, it continues to chug away, with 280, 000 km on the body and about 150, 000 km on the remanufactured engine. We are waiting to see when it will give out, an uphill battle in my opinion. Shifts are smooth, rides like a typical old sedan, electronics & HVAC still working, even the undercarriage is still solid despite Canadian winters and road salt. Made by Toyota Motor Co. in Kentucky.
Thank you everyone for the great posts! I am new to the website and wondering how to relocate questions I post?
relocate to where?
I figured it out, I meant to find where I had posted a question so I could see responses.
responses will show up under the bell notification icon
Bought a 91 mr2 at 200k and lasted me about 3 years until the mountain jumped in front of my car 😂😂😂. Also had a 94 celica that lasted me only 2 years until the dam deer got in the way.
