How dependable is the Hyundai Delta V6 engine produced from the late 90s and up to the 2000s? A lot of Hyundais and Kias used this engine, but the 2.7L was the most used.

They were pretty poor engines.

It's a Hyundai. Not exactly a byword for quality.

Meh, they were OK at most. The Beta II I4 was probably the best design they had back then.

I know several people that have owned them in 2.5 and 2.7 sizes in various Hyundai vehicles. They seem to be OK as long as you keep up with timing belt changes and the usual maintenance, and don't expect to get several hundreds of thousands of miles out of them.
