Lexus LS460 or RX350

Hello, I'm looking to buy either a used 2014-2017 Lexus LS460 or a 2016-2017 RX350.

If I wanted to the LS460 reasonably priced, it would have more miles on it since it's a more expensive care when new. Probably over 70,000 miles on it.

What is the reliability record for an LS460 with higher miles and is it worth the risk to buy it?  Or would it be recommended just to go with the RX350 with lower miles?

My first choice would be the LS460, but if reliability and repairs will be an issue with higher miles, I'll just go with the RX350.

Advice?

Go with the RX350.  I like the Lexus LS460 as well and considered getting one years ago but ultimately decided against it due to the higher cost of ownership over its lifespan (esp. if you keep your cars a long time and put well past 100,000 miles on it).  It has lots of tech so more things to go wrong (although nowhere near as bad as the German vehicles), the air suspension can be expensive to fix, being a V8 you’ll have lower fuel economy (so will have to fuel more often = more cost), also when the starter/knock sensor eventually fail it can cost several thousand dollars to replace ($3,000+) due to the location on those V8’s (poor design choice on Lexus part).

They are good vehicles, but in terms of total cost of ownership I’d recommend the RX350.

If you want a good luxury sedan have you considered the Lexus GS350?

Everybody and their brother-in-law wants an SUV these days - you might find some good deals on the LS.

Get the RX350 for less expenses.

Get the RX350 as repairs and maintenance will be a nightmare as the LS ages.
