Hi there, I'm having an issue with my brake lights and cruise control not working with a p1805 code after my rear end got accident damage. I tested battery, alternator, tail light bulbs, fuse, and relay but they all came back good. Car is a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder 3.5. It still shifts and drives. Thanks in advance

Update: it ended up being a blown brake light fuse. Thanks to everyone for the tips!

I thought you said you tested fuses.

Both the brake light switch and the cruise control ASCD brake switch sit side by side just above the brake pedal on the bracket.

Maybe test for power there and test the switches' functions both electrically and also be sure they're being mechanically manipulated when the brake pedal is depressed.

Even if the ASCD switch is good it's possible that if the stop lamp switch is defective and a signal is not sent to ECM for a certain time period the computer may not allow cruise control to operate.

This would be my next step too. I inspected the switch, but I guess you generally can't tell just by looking at it if it's been shorted out

I saw this website too. I wasn't sure how accurate it was to my make and model truck, but I suppose it need not to be super specific since it should be roughly the same or similar design between different models of the same make from similar years.
