You may have burned out your nearly 20-year-old fuel pump, or possibly the filter is clogged. For further troubleshooting information see the FAQ.

Try putting more gas in it.

If that don't work squirt some starting fluid into the air intake hose

Don't keep cranking it if it's not starting, you'll make the problem worse by having to replace the fuel pump. Fuel pumps are lubricated by the gasoline that they pump, and if it doesn't start, you're burning out the fuel pump by trying.

Take another car and drive to the gas station. Pick up a 3 or 4 gallon supply of gas and drive back. Let the fuel pump cycle a few times before actually starting it. If you turn the key to Run, wait three seconds, turn it off, switch it back to run, again, and do that three or four times before attempting to start it again in order to prime the fuel pump.

I ran out of gas once in my 1999 Ranger. The fuel gauge is funky and it doesn't always indicate the right measurement in the tank, and I ran out. I knew what the problem was. My Ranger has almost 300k miles on the clock and it's the original fuel pump. I did the exact same sequence, and it started right up.
