2010 Tsx almost 190k miles, daily driven tips to make it last

Its a manual transmission, timing belt recently changed within the last 10k-15k miles, oil changed every 3k miles, recently changed clutch and flywheel. My dad and i got it from copart for about $2k with small front end collision that pushed in the radiator a little and we sent it to a shop to get it fixed up for about $5K .(Its my first question ever on this site so if u want pictures of the damge when i got it i can try to send it just ask!) Ive had it for almost 2 years now, with it being my first manual car I've always been extremely excited to drive it so ive been a spirited driver for a while, but I want to say the last 20k-25k miles I've been much more of a safer driver and babying my car more. I still show it some speed every now and then but i try my best not to floor it a lot.

When i first got it i loved it but i soon got picky with it and started doing small complaints over nothing when the car has been serving me without any issues. Never stranded me once! When i realised i was doing that, i started falling in love with this car so much and it being the car that my dad and I worked and still work on that i would never wanna let go of these memories and experiences so i wanna keep it for the rest of my life.

I know that means I would put a ton of unbelievable miles on it and go through multiple transmissions and engines and questionable amount of money. Point is I was wondering if actually keeping this car alive for that long is actually possible and what are the things that i should look out for when i hit those very high numbers like 300K miles or so?

Lol I understand I still have the first car i bought with my own money  ... it must be some social disorder we both suffer lol.

I would say

Change the oil every 5,000 km

Change the fluid with the manufacturer recommendations. Coolant ,transmission and diff.

Keep the car clean, wash it and polish it so the paint work is great

Hope this helps.

Just keep doing what you have done so far, and try to baby that car.

They are well made cars and can last a really long time if taken care of.

Same, I'm in love with my 09 TSX 145k km. I'm not sure if my k24z3 will be able to live until 300k km because its started to consume a bit of oil and leaks from every possible holes (diagnosing where the leak could come from, vtc solenoid seal I think or near the oil pan... could be the main seal or near crank case).

Mine, 5spd automatic, makes me a little bit "cold feet" cuz Honda got a bad reputation for this gen of auto tranny...

À suivre.
