I just bought a fully loaded 2014 Audi A4 with 72K miles for $11,200 from a private seller!

Supposedly the Audi oil consumption issues were solved by them beginning in the 2013 model year.

It's sooooo fun to drive!

Did I get a good deal? I can do basic maintenance myself to save $$

I'll consider it a good deal if I get 50,000 fun miles without needing major repairs. It handles like a go kart all the time!

No way you're getting 50k more miles out of that car without serious repair work. Audi's are notoriously unreliable and expensive to maintain, especially as they age.

You THINK you can do basic maintenance yourself. I think you have no idea what you've gotten yourself into. I wish you luck with it though.

Good luck with the Audi. It's too much money. Around 100,000 miles, they're gonna have a lot of problems with electronics and other things. So you will lose your organs for this.  I would use it as a weekend toy  since you bought it. But for daily driving, I will just sell it right away.

I wish you the best of luck, enjoy it while it lasts, which won't be long.

Well, I agree they did address oil consumption problems from before. Unless you know how to maintain cars very well by urself, get ready to pay through the nose with repair bills, since it's an Audi after all and they are super expensive to maintain and repair. I would use it as a weekend toy, but daily driving I would pass.

Well, I guess there's a sense of adventure in living dangerously.

I am not sure what you want us to say.  You already know what Scotty and the rest of us will say.  I will just leave it at that.

Does basic maintenance include ripping off an intake plenum. Haha... Love working on audi's

Takes ya 30 minutes to pull off a stuck bumper and then 3 years to do everything else before you get to the part ya need to service. Not to mention putting it back together.

Like everyone else. I wish you the best of luck. Ya gonna need it. Woulda been better off leasing it.

My deepest sympathies to your wallet.

OP, don't let these guys get you down they like to parrot Scotty.  Some of us don't want to drive 1994 Celica's until we die.

A4's tend to be one of the more reliable Audi models.  Reliability with all cars depends  a lot on whether they have been maintained well or not.  I know people who have had Audi nightmares and others who have had high mile Audi's with few issues.

The main issue with Audi's is that they are more expensive to maintain and if they  do break, they are expensive to repair.  A good third party Mechanic is a  great benefit  to limiting expense.
