should I retrofit a classic car

I know buying a classic car isn't a good idea to buy as a first vehicle but do you think it's a good idea to swap out the original parts from the vehicle and put modern car parts in it? I'm just wondering.

Thanks for clarification.

some people do that. But hobby cars are huge time and money pits.

Thanks

I do it all the time.

I'll say this: you're going to need a BIG budget. And I mean if you can't throw $30k at it without flinching and still be prepared to spend more, I wouldn't recommend it.

It really depends on how far you want to take it. Converting front brakes from drum to disk is not terribly expensive or difficult. Same with converting from points to electronic ignitions. Add good shocks and radial tires to improve handling and that's pretty much the low-hanging fruit. Beyond that upgrading to modern components can get very expensive.

The sky is the limit on retro fitting.  Fuel injection, electric fans, disc brakes, it can go on as long as you can afford it.  By the way, what is this "classic?"

Yep. I have a passion for classic cars.
