I'm looking to buy a Camry for under about $13,000 at the absolute most. I know most of them were good, but what is the absolute best? I know the 4 speed autos are good, but those are a bit older now (ok with me I guess). But what about the 5 and 6 speed autos? Are they just as good? I'm looking for a 4 cylinder for good gas mileage. What are the absolute best years of them all?
Best Camry is ‘15-‘17 Camry. Best deal, too!
Four or six, no problem. Four has typically a small oil leak at the timing cover. This was fixed under warranty, … but if not, no big deal. It’s not a serious leak. You can watch it, … fix it if it bothers you.
Transmission is bullet proof, … but ATF should be changed. Toyota claims it to be lifetime, … I say, pfft! Just change it every 60-80k.
Rest of the car? Better than most cars, … better than most other Toyotas.
Just find one, have it checked thoroughly by an independent mechanic, … and buy one if recommended! Go, …
F.S.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
