Hey there Scotty, I have a 2014 Corolla le eco with 60000 miles with CVT. I have two questions, the car has been great since I got it private sale over a year and a half ago ($10,500 with 30k miles) except for creaking up front. It only happens at slow speed and when only one of either tire goes over a bump. What do I need to grease?
Also, as I mentioned, its a CVT. I've heard horror stories on jatco and then stories about how good aisen can be as long as you change the fluid which I have myself at 40k miles (thanks for the video on that). I've been conflicted on whether to keep it for the long haul or move it for a Corolla without a cvt but I can't really justify moving what has been a great car over these stories. What do you think? Thanks for the time. -Luke
The CVT in the Corolla is very well made, one of the best there is.
Thanks Kerem, I appreciate the input
Those are solid cars. Do yourself a favour and hang on to it as long as it lasts. They can last forever.
Thanks Billy, I think I will
Scotty's style clickbait title 😎
Thank you for noticing, haha
if you bounce the front bumper with your knee, can you reproduce the sound?
No, I can't. I greased the control arm bushings and that stopped most of it but there is a slight creak every once in awhile from a different area. I'm not really worried about it just curious so I can stop it. These early 11th gen corollas sometimes have these squeaks that need to be addressed. I was more concerned about cvt longevity
