You can expect to pay big money since their values go high.
I don’t think it’s the right first car for a teenager. Cut your teeth on a cheap beater car first.

It is not a good first car for a 16 year old since its is very fast. I would not recommend it for that purpose.

If you like the style, why not start with an old Madza Miata?
You can have quite some fun also modifying around cheap.
It's your money, but I wouldn't put anything as "collectible" as a S2000 in a new driver's hands. Buy him/her a Miata that already has a couple dents - changes are he/she might decide they want an SUV or Jeep or such.
