I'm currently the owner of a 2002 BMW 330i and I'm having car problems. I've been thinking about buying a second car, but now I'm really push harder on the idea. I want to get a decent car as a back up. So, I want to know Mr. Scotty Kilmer or anyone else is the new Kia K5 or any other Kia decent cars to buy and maintain?

This has been discussed many times on this forum, but in short Kia and Hyundai cars are the opposite of quality and reliability.

Well, they are not sadly and I wouldn't be surprised if the K5's turn out to be mediocre cars 5 years down the line.

Actually it would be an improvement if they rose to the level of being mediocre.

That would be out of the frying pan and into the fire - quite literally.

Kia doesn't offer a decent powertrain in the US, it's all 1.6 T-GDI and 2.5 T-GDI with complex electronics and drivetrains.

They're genuinely bad in the US.

None that I can think of in the US.

The closest car to being decent that they sold in the US is out of production and there's no info on the the gen's reliability
