I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler with 150k miles on it. The hot air works great on the passenger side of the vehicle but takes a really long time to heat up on the driver side. The heat on the driver side probably takes about 10 more minutes to heat up than the passenger side. Once it warms up though it works fine.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!
Did you do any coolant work? i.e thermostat, coolant drain and fill, hoses, radiator, etc.. I believe those keeps have a bleeder screw by the upper radiator hose.
I haven't done anything yet besides change the coolant but I'll check that out. Thank you!
Dual climate control?
Haha, no my car doesn't have dual climate control. Good idea though
stabbing in the dark here. I assume the blower is on the passenger side. Probably there is a duct that brings air over to the driver. Maybe the duct is loose or collapsed, but as it warms up it starts working again. Unfortunately it will be buried deep in the dash.
10 minutes isn't that bad though. I could live with that.
The blend door actuator on the driver side might be faulty.
Hm, anyway to check this or should this just be a last idea if nothing else works?
Whack on the dash to see if it does something. Otherwise, if this is the issue, you need to open the dash that is very expensive.
Perhaps there is air trapped in the heater core. I suggest bleeding the cooling system (YouTube has videos on how to bleed your car's cooling system).
I'll take a look and see if I can manage it myself. Thanks for your advice. Hopefully I'll have an update on if this fixed the problem soon.
trapped air would not explain why one side works and the other doesn't
