Hey Scotty, love your videos,

(Canada) I am in market for new vehicle, I am currently looking 2023 Mazda cx5 (2.5l i4) with/without turbo and 2023 kia Sportage ex(2.0l i4). Both vehicles are costing me almost the same amount. I want to know your opinion on which vehicle I should buy. Which vehicle is more reliable in long term , I will be keeping my vehicle for minimum 5 to 7 years. Both vehicle are same in power and performance. I like the Mazda but availably is a small issue and trying to get from other provinces. Almost all brands have availability issues.

Thank you.

See the site's Hyundai/Kia topic.

(The short answer is stay away from the Kia if you value your wallet.)

I'll go for Mazda, they can be decent without the turbo.

Kia is a disaster in the making for vehicles. Immobilizers have been around since at least the early 90s and there's a supposedly Tiktoc page about stealing them. Immobilizers aren't hard to make, they're being cheap and it bit them. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Most are notorious oil burners, too. Cheap = poorly made.
