LED bulbs replacement

Hi scotty, I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 and I have started to replace all my halogen or incandescent bulbs with LED’s. I have had no problems so far but what is your overall opinion on this? i know they run with less energy and heat. I have heard that sometimes replacing an incandescent turn signal bulb with an LED can cause fast blinking, but is this always the case?

not noticeably.

Heat melts snow and fogging 🙂

LED causes a lot of problems. We get people reporting them all the time.

No, it's not always the case. Many 'early adopters' replaced their headlight bulbs with LED bulbs but encountered problems. Why? Because they bought inexpensive LEDs which didn't have ballast resistors built-in, something that if overlooked it would pretty much guarantee a problem. Without that resistor the chance of a successful upgrade was minimal, that simple. As @mmj alluded to earlier many older vehicles use the heat from halogen or incandescent bulbs to defog or de-iced exterior lenses.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with replacing older styled bulbs with LEDs. Many people have changed their older lights to LED lights, including Scotty

Yeah they can cause issues sometimes.

I admit I do love my led headlights though, much brighter, and easier to see in nasty rain, fog, etc. However, the first set of led lights I got were garbage, and I returned them. LED lights can be nice, but sometimes are troublemakers.

The LED lights I was happy with, I keep buying the same type and love them. They are much brighter for just regular night driving as well.

@nlord did you buy HL assembly or bulb only? Thinking about some for my DD.

@hixster Basically just the bulb, not new headlight assembly. I use the sealight LEDs, specific model is X2 , you can find it on amazon.

@nlord thank you !

So far I've replaced the original bulbs (burn out/low light) with LED on the headlights, parking, break and interior (dome), on my aging 2003 Vitz/Yaris.
