Hello everyone. So I have been watching Scotty's videos for a while now and I feel grateful for the information that's been given. Although there are so many videos of how to make our cars last longer and work better , I find something new every day ! "Do this if you want your car etc.." and "Do that etc..." From oil and filter change to valves to thermostats to radiators to spraying rubber parts , to changing battery filter in hybrids etc. Could you please Scotty make a full list of the things we should keep an eye on and how often we should . For example oil change every 5 years, oil filter every 5 years or 10.000 ml etc. Please I am not a car guy and I forget and get terrified I might forget something Scotty told me. We will search on vids on how to do it. I just need the "to do" list. Thank you.

ps: I drive a Suzuki swift '08

Hello and welcome here!

First guide should be owner's and maintenance manuals of your car.

Scotty also created playlists.

Good luck!

It depends a lot on the particular vehicle. The owner's manual should be your starting point.

Here are some beginner videos:

Most everything you need to do is in your owners manual.

Step 1: Don't have 5 year intervals between oil changes

Step 2: All maintenance needs are available in the owners manual. You can find it online if you don't have a hard copy

Step 3: Refer to Scotty's vids anytime you need help

Like @mmj said, the owners manual should be your starting point.  Most people never think about chassis and suspension grease fittings, u joints on the drive shaft(s) or changing out the differential gear oil.  Anything that can be lubricated should be.  Belts and hoses need to be looked at and fluids, ie trans, brake, power steering and coolant all need attention.  Radiator cap, thermostat, gas cap - how old are they?  PCV valve, EGR valve and MAF sensor need monitoring.

Do everything in your owner's maintenance schedule twice as often as specified,  For example, if it says to change your engine oil and filter at 10,000 miles, change them at 5,000 miles.  If it says change your transmission fluid and filter at 100,000 mile, change it at 50,000 miles, etc.

Maintenance needs aren't always in the owners manual. For example, mine doesn't show a recommended auto tranny fluid/filter change interval or spark plug change interval or transfer case fluid change interval or axle fluid change intervals.

that's right. The manual isn't an exhaustive list, just a starting point.
@Fivos should mention if his Swift is 4WD or not.

We all did say "Starting point."
