Hi Scotty, hope you are well and I'm great spirits.

Having a great experience with my IS250 AWD in Quebec, Canada despite the lack of heating for a few minutes, I got a 2012 CT 200h with 40 000 KM (~24000 miles) and it has been driving great. I took a trip to Virginia and forgot to turn of the dome lights in the car when I got back. I didn't use the car for about a few months since. When I got the car battery recharged I was told that I needed to have it replaced. I also got the code C2300. The car seems to be driving just fine and I haven't had any issues with it now that I drive it a bit more regularly. I'm wondering if I should get the battery changed.

My brother offered to change my battery but I remember hearing that with hybrid vehicle 12v batteries, you have to recalibrate the settings of the vehicle if the 12v battery is removed and should be done at a dealership only. My brother says that's not necessary and can be done by driving the vehicle hard.

It seems to be driving just fine at the moment, but what do you think is the best solution? Should I change the battery? If so, can I do it at home or should I take it to the dealer to be replaced?

Thanks, love your YouTube channel!

Load test the battery in an auto part store to find out about the battery health. If you end up replacing the battery, you can do it at home although you may need to use a memory saver to avoid issues regarding changing the battery.
