Hi Scotty, first of all I love your videos! Very informative and keeps my eyes engaged with your personality. You seem like the coolest mechanic ever haha especially since I'm not really a car guy myself but Im learning through you. My question is, that I have been having the low oil pressure light on for a while now, but just today I noticed I had really dark power steering fluid. I been using a turkey baste to flush it out and it seems to be working. So much so that the oil pressure light didn't come on at the usual 10-15 minutes but 30-45 instead. Im not hearing any rattling or loud noises from the engine or pump, and my oil levels are fine. What do you think the problem is? Thanks scotty! - Oscar

Power steering fluid would not have anything to do with low oil pressure.

You should probably have a mechanic hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to see what the oil pressure really is. It could be just a bad sending unit, particularly if the engine is not making any unusual noises. Get it checked though, if pressure is really bad the engine is on its last legs.

Definitely agree on the power steering. I just found it odd that it delayed the low oil pressure symbol is all. Thought it was worth noting.
