Heyo. I recently inherited my Nanas car. 2004 Hyundai Elantra, automatic with now a little over 81,000 miles after driving it from Denver to Tennessee. I plan on driving it until it quits, but I really don’t know where to begin with the maintenance. It’s had semi regular oil changes and that’s about it. It drives just fine, I just want to know what I need to have done to keep it going without having major issues down the road.
Thanks a million,
Josh
Follow the owner’s manual. Be sure, however, to change the engine oil no more than every 5,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first. Also, change the transmission fluid and filter (drain and fill) every 40,000 miles. Also, highway miles is better than city (stop and go) miles, so hopefully most of your drives are highway.
