I Have a 1993 Chevrolet S10 With 175,000 Miles. Im Going to Have to Use it As a Daily Driver For a While [Which I Know Isnt the Best Idea]. My Drive A Average of 50 Miles A Day Going To And From Work . Im Curious Of What Precautions I Should Take to My Truck The Most Dependable It Can Be.

I'd say replacing belts and hoses would be a priority, as would making sure brakes are in good condition. If the 28-year-old brake hoses are original you might want to change those out as a precaution. Check front end parts for looseness, check water pump, alternator, etc. for wear and replace if in doubt. Flush radiator and install new coolant if it hasn't been done in a while. Basically you want to go through that truck to check for old and worn items and make sure it has fresh or recent fluids. You can daily drive an old vehicle (I've done that for ages) but you can't just put gas in it and go like a new one.
