Miata/Mx5 alternate?

Hey Scotty, feel free to use this question in one of your videos.

Here goes;
So many people hold the Miata/Mx5 as the perfect drivers car. They have enough power to weight ratio to be enjoyable, front engine and rear wheel drive, and they handle corners like a dream and zip around with all kinds of fun.

My buddy had a convertible mx5 and I couldn't fit. I'm on the tall side, 6'4", and my head stuck out above the roll bars, let alone I felt cramped on the interior as well.

Can you recommend an equally fun and cheap drivers coupe for those on the taller side?

They don't really make any good sports cars for us tall guys.

If you don't need a convertible, the Challenger has room to spare. It is a Stellantis product though and drives like a boat, so it feels different than any little Miata.

If you can find a good one, the 2004 - 2006 GTO's have really good space, are comfortable, and pack plenty of punch. Most are just beat up at this point though.

Unfortunately they're really aren't in the United States that is the one that last doesn't cost that much I sold a bunch of used ones out there. Almost all the other converters out there are problematical or cost a small fortune and still cost a lot to fix. But if you wouldn't mind a Toyota solara convertible they don't make them anymore but those are kind of fun cars

The new 2022 Suburu BRZ/Toyota 86.  I saw some reviews that particularly mentioned good head room for tall drivers

The first gen models are great for taller people as well. They are fun little cars and actually in stock form handle better than most versions of the Miata (the Miata tends to be a little on the soft side). The BRZ/86 is also way more practical than the Miata, although to be fair it is not exactly practical itself!
