Hello,
I recently inherited a Nissan 350z from my father who passed away. Once my uncle gave it to me he told me there was some "minor issues" with it. Well.... There seems to be way more than minor issues with it. I have been replacing parts left and right. I'm very very new to fixing up cars and honestly this is the first car I've worked on. So a little bit about what I've done to the car so far is I've replaced the throttle position sensor, the throttle pedal, the fuel pump, the battery. I've run diagnostics on it and it's not giving me anything particular. Saying I'm having U1000 code, but that's it. I've cleaned the throttle body and now I'm replacing it, I've got a new ECU on the way too, I've cleaned the MAF sensor, I was going to change the ignition coils next if that doesn't work. But I'm getting no acceleration and nothing else. It turns on and that's about it. My RPMS go nowhere, and I no acceleration at all. I thought it was the engine harness, but after looking into it, there's no damage to it, but there is packrat damage to the Engine Compartment Harness. I was hoping someone might be able to help me out!
I'm so sorry, it's a 2004 Nissan Automatic 350Z. Mileage is roughly 106k. I can't get any OBD2 Codes because I'm getting a U1000 code, but I was getting codes a few months back for my throttle position sensor and throttle pedal. I don't remember the codes but they were a P code. Let me see if I can find them, I had written them down
but there is packrat damage to the Engine Compartment Harness
This is bad news, but start here (check if your car is affected by the SB) -

U1000 could be a ground issue or a module. Your heading said no response from alternator? Is it charging? If not that can cause all of your problems because if the sensors aren’t seeing the voltage they need they will not work. Throttle included
My alternator isn't charging, I don't think. I ordered a a new one and it's coming in today. If it got in early enough I was going to install it. I was going to take pictures of the damage and post them and see if it's something I can just rewire or buy a a new harness. I have a picture of it now, but it doesn't show all the damage and I'm at work for the next 10 hours sadly.
I would definitely fix the charging issue before replacing anything else
