Non-stop misfiring in new engine

Hey Scotty, I brought my 2015 jeep wrangler to a jeep dealership for an engine replacement after it had blown. When I picked it up the first time, there was an obvious vacuum problem and they fixed it. Second time the radio died. Third time, check engine lights for misfires, they said it was due to moisture in one of the spark plug chambers, and they cleaned it out. Fourth time check engine light comes back on still reading misfires they claimed it was a bad valve cover and new spark plugs would be needed. Fourth time check engine light misfires they change the ignition coils And crank sensor. Now I have to bring it back in for a fifth time check engine light is on and it’s reading misfires. Someone had said that lifters can cause a jeep engine to trigger the misfiring code. What do you think would be the problem?

I think it's time for you to start talking to the Jeep regional manager, and up the Jeep management chain - and your state attorney general's consumer affairs department (email makes this pretty easy). They've had the car for a YEAR, and not only don't they seem to have any diagnostic or mechanical skills, they still don't seem to actually test drive the car after "completing" the work. Total incompetence, with a slather of lying on top.

I would have little faith in this dealer. A vacuum leak after a engine change, well no one's perfect so wouldn't be too alarmed by this. Then you have a CEL they said was caused by moisture in the plug 'chambers', the valve cover, the spark plugs, the coils, the crank sensor - and you still have the CEL. Sounds like the parts cannon approach. Did they charge you for any/all of this? (wouldn't be surprised) 

Trust me, I don’t have any faith in this dealership. On the old engine I had an oil catch can which they had transferred over to the new one, when I brought it back for the vacuum leak they tried to pin the blame on the oil catch can, but as they were demonstrating to me, steam and coolant start coming out of the engine. A later turned out that they need to replace a PCV valve. What I brought it back for the dead radio which had just been installed by Best Buy a few weeks prior to the engine going, they said there was nothing wrong with the electrical and it was just a bad stereo. Apparently while they are trying to check the wiring behind the firewall, they informed me that they need to replace the O-rings for the fuel injectors, and replace the lower intake manifold because of stripped bolts. The only thing that they have charged me for the new engine and the valve covering spark plugs. I brought my vehicle to their shop July 5 of last year and I’m bringing it again tomorrow.

Well of course a bad lifter can cause a misfire but I hope they actually put in a new engine. Typically a 'new engine' means it's just a new short block and they reuse much of the old engine's components. So parts from your previous engine that are worn might have been reused on the new engine. But lifters are part of that new engine.. Did they mention lifters or is this something you're suspecting?

Yes, they had charged me for a new engine. I had noticed old parts that were transferred over to “new engine “the kid who I had spoken to over the phone from the dealership mentioned it.

Contact Jeep as @glen_stet suggested. I have a friend who traveled across each of the contiguous 48 states last year in his Jeep. In the middle of his journey, his engine blew. A Jeep dealer replaced it with a new engine and he was on his way in 3 weeks. The first 2 weeks were consumed by "waiting on the engine to be shipped"...

Is that someone driving a new, shiny Jeep vehicle by any chance?

think he was suggesting the person you spoke with at consumer bureau was corrupt
