i have a 2017 Kia Optima and it’s consuming oil a lot to where I have to add a quart or two a week. I didn’t see any oil leaks and I was sure it was worn piston rings but wasn’t too sure. I then watched your video about GDI engines and with all the pressure put on the piston it makes sense to be the rings. What do you think it is and if it is the rings then is there a liquid sealant that you know that works instead of paying someone to do an engine tear down to replace the rings? Also I didn’t do my research about kias when buying from the dealership and apparently Kia has been having this problem a lot with their cars.
Unfortunately, engine rebuild/replace is the only fix for failed piston rings.

Do you know how much that’ll usually cost?
Did you buy it new? Did you read the warranty?
No i bought it used, not the original owner
I don't know how much it will cost, but it will be a lot. You should call around if you want a quote.
Since you're apparently not pursuing a warranty claim I'm assuming that you're not the original owner or it has over 100K miles. Unfortunately there is no "sealant" that can do anything about bad piston rings. The only way to fix the problem is to rebuild or replace the engine but if it's a design flaw even that may only help for a short time.
Do you know how much that’ll cost?
Easily several thousand dollars.
Like Chuck said though, you still end up with a bad engine that is rebuilt, and likely won't even last as long as it did the first time.
