Won't all late model vehicles eventually become oil burners? With low-tension rings, direct injection and turbo engines prematurely (under 150k miles) become oil burners?

Every car will become an oil burner at some point. Everything wears out eventually. (Unless maybe it's wrecked or otherwise destroyed first.) When it will happen with a particular engine depends on design and quality of materials as well as maintenance.
Yep.
Some late model vehicles burn oil even when they’re completely brand new, and some don’t do that until they reach many hundreds of miles.
But as Chuck Tobias said, every car will become an oil burner at some point.
