Manual Trans- NV4500

hey Scotty, I know you’re not a fan of dodge, but I got this truck for $2,500 and it’s in really good shape for the age and mileage, shifts good (I made sure to get a manual because dodge automatics are trash) and still has plenty of power. However, there’s a quite large oil leak where the bell housing pairs to the engine, I’m told this is the “rear main seal?” I’m not sure exactly what all has to be done to replace that, some people have said things like “you need liquid nitrogen to shrink the wear-bearing-ring to fit” among other things and I just don’t know what is true, or what I need to repair/replace it, thanks in advance!
With thanks, Leo
You got yourself a nice deal sir! if you need to replace your rear main seal its not too difficult you will have to take out your transmission be careful with putting the seal in us the alinement tool the rear main seal comes with and use a flat object to tap it in and never put in a rear main seal dry unless it says so on the directions. some use either rubber or polymer rear main seal if your car has an aftermarket rubber rear main seal get it they last so much longer.
