[Solved] Oil with different specifications but with same viscocity

Hi,

My car is a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 Ti gasoline and last time i serviced it i had to use oil with same viscocity ie 5w-40 but different specs due to the pandemic.

Since with the new engine oil it had difficulty in getting up to speed, i figured that the vvti was not working properly. I rechanged the oil with the recommended one and cleaned the vvt solenoids and it is far better but not exactly how it used to be. The problem is visible on higher speeds mainly ie over 3000 rpm with  4th and 5th gear. Would an engine oil flush help? Scotty does not recommend that solution but i cannot think of something else. Any ideas?

Will  try what you recommended! thanks a lot

I would not flush it, I would just change the oil more frequently(every 2k miles) with fully synthetic and with the correct viscosity.

No flush. That’s bad. Like taser said, I’d change the oil again with the right one.
