Hey scotty, my fiance and I are considering purchasing our first new vehicle. We plan on starting a family in 2-3 years and are hoping to get a crossover/small SUV.
I currently drive a small chevy aveo I bought for $400 thats on its last legs and she drives a 2013 nissan micra that we plan to keep.
ive done some research on the Hyundai Venue and we even test drove it.
some things I like about it:
-simple and small
-good modern safety features
-real emergency brake with handle.
some things im concerned about
-i dont know much about the engines or transmissions on hyundais. Reliable?
-resale value is probably low although we intend to keep the vehicle for its life span
-im worried the engine is underpowered and will lead to wear as its pushed to keep up with traffic.
Let me know if you can address any of my concerns thanks in advance!

If you don’t know much about it’s engine and or transmission, I wouldn’t buy it.
Never buy a brand new model if you value reliability & piece of mind! Who knows what issues are lurking in that car, since it’s just been released.
I’d rather get a HR-V or a CR-V or even a RAV4 instead.
Stick to Toyota & Honda if you want reliable, long lasting & fuss free ownership.
The quality of Hyundai (Korean manufacturers) is just not there and no where comparable to the equivalent Toyota or Honda product.
As Scotty says, the Koreans produce junk!
I agree with InThrustWeTrust for the most part but one could agree used is unknown just like new you never know whats wrong with any care or how it was treated but if you got time before you need it I would start looking for low mileage used honda or toyota I would not buy anything used from a dealer though so if you dont have the money i would consider new
