Opinions on a Raider

I've always been a truck guy, and I keep in touch with the local stock quite a bit as it's essentially a given that at least one person I know is shopping for a truck.

With used car prices as volatile as they currently are, I was looking into alternatives from the usual Ford-Chevy-Dodge-Toyota small truck lines, and I saw the Mitsubishi Raider.

I know that the Raider shares a few components with the Dakota on the interior, but the drivetrain and powertrain is pure, Normal-Illinois built Mitsubishi 'quality'.

Now I know some Mitsubishi engines in the past had oil burning issues, but the 3.7 V6 has been pretty solid. And I can't beat the prices on them eihter. A 15 year old truck in really nice shape with 150K miles for under 8K is a pretty good deal in the current market.

I wondered if anyone has any experience/recommendations about the Raider that they could base on personal experience/research instead of brand bias. I didn't see anything bad about any reviews online, and wanted to get some second opinions before I recommend this one to a colleague who is shopping for a small pickup, or pick one up for myself.

Thanks for any insight.

Here's a link to the one that caught my attention:

Mitsubishi Raider - Graue Buick

Just realize they were never popular here in the states, and parts for Mitsubishis are hard to come by.

Yeah, that's always good to consider. I'll keep that in mind.
