sit back and relax it's gonna be a long read,
so since i bought that car in 2011 "used" with 14000 km on the odometer the temp gauge was sitting between quarter and half most of the time and for the last 3 years (2017-2020) the temp. gauge was on the mid line most of the time, if i turn on the A/C the fan starts rotating and the temperature gauge reading decreases to below mid line, if it's winter i must turn on the heaterΒ  to decrease the gauge reading and if i don't turn on the A/C the fan never turns on, at least i never saw it rotating, so i took it to the toyota dealership and the only related thing was the broken radiator cap which i replaced with a new OEM cap but it still didn't fix my issue, i told them about it and they tested it again and they said i don't have any issues it's normal... i kept hearing this from every mechanic "that's normal" till the radiator started leaking from the plastic part of the radiator near the radiator cap , funny enough i noticed that the fan was working without the A/C on that time , i fixed the radiator and changed the thermostat with a new OEM one and that didn't fix my issue, i went to the dealer again and told them that it leaked the radiator and i fixed it but i still have this issue that fan doesn't rotate without turning the A/C and the temp is always on the mid line and they kept saying it's normal don't worry about it and yesterday my brother said it blew cold air on me for 15 min till it started blowing hot air i knew i either have low coolant or heater core issue and when i checked it it was low on coolant and no leak, by now i knew i blew the head gasket and confirmed it by seeing bubbles in the coolant reservoir.

so i'm planning to either do a head gasket change or whole engine change (gimme ur opinion) but i need to know what was the overheating issue before i do anything and i came here to ask u ppl about it , and how can i check the fan ECU cuz i think this was my issue

Well if you do everything in my video how to fix an overheating car engine, it has to be one of them.at the cooling fan only work with the AC on then it would overheat when the AC wasn't on especially when you were going at lower speeds.

well guess what mr scotty
i took the car to another mechanic and he found a small leak in the thermostat joint where it was dripping over a hot part of the engine and evaporating before reaching the ground and that's why there was no antifreeze under the car ^_^ i fixed that and it's running great again πŸ˜‰ , so thank u so much for responding , now since the engine is fine i'm gonna try replacing the fan ECU just to check and if that didn't work i guess i'm gonna need a new radiator which i need to ask u about, should i get an OEM radiator for 500$ or a Chinese copy for 120$ what is ur opinion.
once again thnx for responding i know u r busy
