Hello, I have a 2011 Toyota rav4 2.5l L4 with 195000 km.

The car working fine with no noise or weird sound. 

i got an engine light with one code P0016. 

I've tested the vvt solenoid I cleaned both camshaft sensor but still got no result.

i took it to toyota dealership but it was no really helpful as they told me what i already knew and did. 

Then they said they will need to open the engine cover and inspect the timing gear and timing chain. But they did not confirm that it has a bad chain. they quote me $4000 to do this.

my question is do you think it will be the timing problem? the engine light is not always on it is so intermittent.

as i mentioned, there is no noise at all and run perfectly. what is your recommendation?
