Pennzoil Platinum Euro SAE 5W-40 vs Valvoline European Vehicle 5W-40 Full Synthetic Engine Oil

Hey Scotty, love the channel, watch it all the time! So, I do the oil changes on my 2014 Maserati Quattroporte GTS 3.8L 3799CC V8 FI Turbo in my back yard with a fluid extractor and a 32mm socket on the filter housing. Don't even touch the oil plug or lift the car and cuz the oil filter is on the top of the engine 😀 Anyways, the manual calls for Pennzoil Platinum Euro SAE 5W-40, but if I put Valvoline European Vehicle 5W-40 Full Synthetic Engine Oil in there, which would save me a chunk of change, would it really matter? I think it doesn't matter? I was thinking of buying 2x 5 GAL jugs to stock up but the Pennzoil is really hard to find in that size.

You should open the pan once in a while to get all that junk out.

Please check the "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)" near the top of the front page.

Open the "What kind of oil should I put in my engine?" link in the maintenance section.

Oil brand does not matter.
