Question: P0340 99 Lincoln continental 8 cyl, stalled wouldnt start ran code p0340 I pulled the part half was missing looked and tried with a hook pick nothing mus of fell in, put the new sensor on and same ordeal,as said in the subject, P0340 was the only code on the scanner, I changed out the sensor and same issue no turn over sounds like battery is dead but has a full charge, I'm also thinking crankshaft sensor idk since no code was thrown for it. I light checked all fuses under the hood all lit, didn't check the relays and the car has one of each, i'm really lost here and don't know what to do at this point, any advice is greatly appreciated!!!!
See the troubleshooting section of the site FAQ for tips on troubleshooting a no crank/no start problem.
Also check possible causes for code P340, particularly the "P0340 on some Ford Vehicles" section, in the link below:

Well if half was missing that means it got knocked off. That means the actual part of the engine that goes past the sensor is probably broken. You'll have to take the engine apart. They generally only break when something inside the engine is worn and then it runs into the sensor and breaks it in pieces.
Please note for future reference that your question and car problem details belong in the body of your post, not the title line which is meant for a short description of your topic. Additionally, posting in ALL CAPS makes it appear as though you are shouting and should be avoided. Thank you. (Title edited, caps removed.)

@chucktobias Well excusssssse me for the caps, you should think before you crit somebody with eye issues otherwise you are discriminating their disability, oh and no kidding the half of the sensor is inside the engine that does not answer my question at all, You are not Scotty Kilmer and what you answer is a total WOT so what is your excuse other that discriminating against somebody's disability??????????????
Our resident telepath is not currently available so there is no way to know of anyone's disability unless they mention it. (Larger type is available in the editor if desired, as demonstrated here.)
As far as your broken part, possibly if you post a photo of what you are dealing with someone here may come up with an idea for you. Otherwise Scotty's response of taking apart your engine is likely your answer.

@chucktobias This is not about the sensor falling in that was only mentioned of what I found changing out the part, The big issue is that the part was changed to a new one and there is no turnover trying to start the engine, just makes a sound like the battery is dead click click when it's fully charged I didn't try changing the crank sensor there was no code only for the cam. I would presume if it jumped time it would still try to turn over with no start. Again this is not all about part of the sensor falling in it's about getting it to turn over and start. The only other thing I can think of is that the fuse or relay is blown to the ECU, all under hood fuses work with a check light don't know about the relays moved some around with same part numbers and no success. Having a used car with no owners manual is a killer IDK if under the dash has anything to the sensors.

Now now, kids. It's just a car forum. No need for theatrics. Nobody is discriminating here. All browsers have the ability to increase text size simply by pushing CONTROL and the '+' keys. All operating systems also have the function to increase text size in the display settings. Not to mention a whole plethora of readability options in "Accessibility" settings. Everybody with a real disability knows this. And of course the text size editor right up there ^ in the box you type in on in this very forum, as Chuck mentioned. There is no excuse to be using all caps.
This is a public forum, not everyone gets a Scotty answer.
Please settle down, and keep the drama to a minimum or you will be removed, per forum rules.
Thank you.

A dead crank position sensor would not affect engine cranking, but it would be a crank with no start. As already mentioned there is troubleshooting information for no crank and no start in the site FAQ as these are very common problems. I would probably start by load-testing the battery to confirm its condition and then hot-wiring the starter to see if it is working. If either of those are faulty nothing else is going to work.
Beyond that you would need to grab a wiring diagram and do some basic electrical troubleshooting to find the fault. (Without a wiring diagram you are working in the dark.) That car is so old it could be almost anything, but guessing and throwing parts at the problem is very unlikely to lead to a satisfactory result.
You can find a repair manual for your car here which may help:
