Hello Scotty,
My 2013 Ford Edge with 234,000 miles began to leak coolant and overheat. A local mechanic ran tests using a dye to try to find the source of the leak. He said it was a "rear cylinder head leak" and to forget it. The vehicle is finished.
Is there a "sealant" possibility or an option of an engine repair job that would be a reasonable solution. The vehicle still looks great and I like it very much.
Thank you,

Sounds like it's a head gasket leak unless maybe there's a core plug back there like on the old Jeep 4.0 engines. Either way the cylinder head has to come off.
"Sealers" are basically snake oil. They are at best temporary bandaids. At worst they can plug up your cooling system and cause more problems. The best use of such a product is to try getting a little more time out of an old clunker where the only other option is the junkyard. (Scotty has recommended the Bars Leaks product in the silver bottle.)
