I was watching your video about AT-205-re-seal and I was wondering will that work for my 2008 Cadillac CTS?
The only way to fix this properly is replacement. Practically anyone competent with cars can do it, but that's quite a big job. I have a '79 Pontiac Catalina, I was going to replace the input shaft seal. Almost a month after last driving it, the input shaft seal stopped leaking. I was also dealing with a rear main leak and it took a month to sort out. It was starting to leak a little more, then, a month later, it stopped. Be ready if it does leak more. If it doesn't leak much, I wouldn't bother fixing it. It will never be a collector's car.
It may help temporarily depending on the seal's condition but it does not "fix" the seal. The only way to fix a worn seal is replacement.
The only way to “fix” the rear main seal is to replace it. Which usually involves unmating the engine and the transmission, which is really expensive.
AT-205 is a band aid fix. Sometimes that band aid doesn’t last too long, sometimes it lasts for quite some time. Sometimes you can reapply the band aid, sometimes the seal is too far gone.
Case by case basis.
Dang, I wish I knew more about cars that way I can diagnose the problem, it sure beats getting [expletive deleted] over by mechanics.. just cuz I'm a girl.. sucks
Chances are, you can just try AT205 per the directions, and see if it works. At worst, it will do nothing. At best, it can seal the leak. Or maybe at least seal it good enough where it isn’t too crazy a leak.
Do you see any oil? Is it dripping? Puddling? Sweating?
It's puddling.. like when I drive it leaves a trail of where I go lol
Unfortunately if it's that bad the seal is probably cracked or otherwise physically damaged and no additive will fix that.
Anyone recommend any good mechanics in the los Angeles area? I ordered a bottle of the AT 205 resealer, n I'll give it a try but if it doesn't stop the leakage, even by a little, I guess I'll have to take it to a mechanic.
I believe you'll find some mechanic referrals for the L.A. area in the site FAQ.
please see the at205 topic

As far as I know, the product doesn't care what kind of car you have.

What I would do in your situation is give the AT-205 a try. It won't hurt anything and depending on the condition of the seal it may help. There's nothing to lose but the cost of the product.
