Hello!
I have a 2012 Honda Pilot that makes suspension noise but only when it rains or is humid outside. This noise happens when the weight of the car is being transferred through acceleration, turning, or bumps in the road. Going over speed bumps normally, the noise can be heard. If I go over speed bumps very slowly, the noise can be stopped. I hear the noise come from both the left and right rear wheels, as sometimes I'll hear two of the same noise coming from either side of the car. I took it to a local shop and they couldn't say for certain where the noise was coming from.
The noise very rarely occurs when it's dry outside. Sometimes if I take a speedbump too quickly the noise will be made but it won't stick around or happen again. When it's wet outside, the suspension will be quiet until I hit a bump in the road or too much of the weight transfers to the rear suspension when taking a turn, then it starts to happen extremely frequently until it becomes dry outside again. Any suggestions as to diagnosing this issue and getting it fixed? Thank you!
Spray the rubber bushings one at a time, to isolate the one that needs replacing -
Check the struts and shocks first. I would also check the steering mechanism.
