Hey! I bought a 2010 Mazda 3 2.5L I4 with 5 speed auto 88k miles recently. I want to change the stock muffler with one that sounds better, for example a Flowmaster. I saw your old video about why not to change your muffler and you mention free flow mufflers. However I want to upgrade to a traditional sized muffler that just sounds better. Also I'm planning on keeping this car a long time. Is it a good idea?
Just make sure the noise levels are with in your state allows (or you will get pulled over and get ticketed) then change it to which ever the heart desires. Personally I always recommend my customers to use Stock.
Just leave it alone. You’ll get bored with it quickly, it won’t sound good.
It's your car and your $$. If you really treasure a new cooler sound and do the job yourself and have fun and learn something new, go for it. If you have to pay someone else to do the job, I wouldn't.
