How do I know the right tire pressure for my truck?
Inside the door, there's OEM tire size with tire pressure. But, the previous owner changed the wheel size and now I have different size tires.
On the tire, there is max tire pressure which I'm supposed we should not get near that high.
What’s the OEM size and what do you currently have installed?
Use the tire pressure printed on the decal on the driver's door jamb.
It depends on the tire.
Are they "P" (Passenger ) tires, or "LT" (Light Truck).
What size are they.
What is indicated on your sticker.
For accurate answers, you should post photos of everything.
Welcome new member... Interesting question. You might see if that tire size was offered as an option for that vehicle, and then look up that recommended pressure.
If it was not an optional size, then maybe calculate the ratio of the running pressure versus max pressure of the OEM tires (if you can find it), and apply the same ratio to the tires you have. For example, if the OEM tires have a max pressure of 50psi and the door jam says 35, then that’s a ratio of 0.7 ... Multiply your current tires max pressure (printed on the side wall) by 0.7.
Or just take your best guess, or go with the door jam. But regardless, keep an eye on treadwear and adjust over time (underinflated tires preferentially wear the tread shoulders, whereas overinflated ones wear the tread center more heavily).
