Rocker arm noise when car is put in reverse

I have a 2008 Ford expedition that just reach 300,000 miles and it’s still running very strong. This vehicle has never burned oil. I believe my last oil change shop did not put all my oil in the vehicle. My change oil light came on again for me to change oil and then I noticed that my vehicle was acting like it was running out of gas if I came to a stop on the freeway the engine would cut off. Then I started hearing a little rattling in the upper half of the engine. When I checked the oil stick there was no oil on the dipstick so I added some oil and see if it will make a difference. The engine ran well the only thing that I noticed was I had to put in the oil and was whenever I put it in reverse I would hear the rockers rattling or if I came to a slow drive on the freeway in traffic the engine would run very very rough once I picked up Speed the power and everything was fin. my question to you is what could be the problem.

Thanks for taking a look at my question.

Sounds like place that did the oil change didn't put all of your oil in and it damaged the engine. How far did you drive before this started happening? Oil should always be between the two dots on the dipstick, preferably at the "Max" point. "Min" is generally the lowest acceptable level before engine damage due to inadequate oil starts happening. Below that, you're guaranteed to be causing damage if you run the engine. It's not advisable to keep an engine at the MIN level, you're asking less oil to lubricate more surface areas.

This is why Scotty recommends doing oil changes yourself. Then you know it was done correctly.
