Hey guys I recently did a post on my cars alarm going off at random, I have a 2003 Toyota Camry le 4 cylinder well the alarm stopped after new key fob battery, but after I installed the new battery the car is idling really rough. I found a video on how to reset the idle it idles better after doing the reset, but after a couple hours or the next day it does it again, done the idle reset couple times now and same happens til I run the car at freeway speed and it goes away after that, but now the check engine light came on and it’s a cylinder (ignition coil) first it was 2nd coil but after disconnecting the battery again and moving the second coil to the diese now it shows as a bad 1st ignition coil so now I gotta replace it , do you guys think it idles bad and won’t do a good reset do to the bad ignition coil, even though it didn’t come up before or after the new battery, but recently it did anyways hope someone can help.

with every post, please

Provide the exact code. The fact that it comes back after you drive the car tells you it is not a ghost code and something needs to be taken care of.

It was code p0302 now it’s p0301 after switching ignition coil number 2 to #1 location of coil, so I know it’s a bad ignition coil would I need to buy just that one or might as well replace all 4 ? My car has 196k miles they are probably the original ignition coils from denso saw the denso brand on them.

Replace the faulty one.

Would you recommend going with the oem ones from denso they are little more expensive just checked and it’s around $90-110 vs cheaper brand from $74, really hope it fixes the idle problem, would I need to do the reset again since I’ll be disconnecting the negative terminal to replace the ignition coil. Or disconnect both battery terminals. For it to reset

Get OEM parts, you do not need to get from a dealer. For the reset, you can disconnect the battery to clear the code or use scan tool.

Now might be a good time to throw in fresh sparkplugs and use some spray cleaner on the throttle body and mass airflow sensor, if these haven't been done in a good while.

I did the spark plugs at 180k miles and I also checked them and are good also done the mass airflow sensor but not the throttle body ,
